The year is 2012 when Square Enix revealed a gameplay trailer of its upcoming action-adventure title, Tomb Raider, at E3. At a pivotal moment when gaming legend-slash-adventurer Lara Croft has been discovered from her hiding place during a dramatic escape from an enemy camp, a grizzled, armed man grabs her, then run his hands down her body. The camera pauses as one of gaming’s strongest and most fearless woman — who has never been kissed in-game — remains in danger of being sexually assaulted.
Luckily, it didn’t happen. But this implicit threat, though it left a bad taste in the mouth, was in fact, a trend that even game developers cannot ignore. Now, it’s been eight years, but the question remains: Is sex and sexual violence in games, okay? When does it become too far?

Sex and Violence in Games
Given that the gaming industry started taking hold in the seventies, sex has always been added into it. Even the earliest console games involve pixelated sexual conquest, like the Atari 2600 game X-Man, which features a rudimentary graphic of a naked man navigating a labyrinth to find his lover. The game ends with the player trying to please the woman by wiggling the Atari’s joystick. As crude as it was, it can’t be anything else other than a sex scene.
As one of the first companies to specialize in adult video games, Mystique, an offshoot of a company called American Multiple Industries (AMI), naturally created Atari 2600. They also created others with the same theme, like Beat ‘Em & Eat ‘Em (two women catch with their mouths the semen of a man masturbating off the side of a roof), Burning Desire (a rescue worker whose goal is to save a woman from being burned to death by cannibals, gets “a hero’s favorite reward” when he succeeds), and the Bachelor Party (a self-explanatory title for an adult game). When asked why they came up with this theme, the president of AMI simply said, “I just don’t believe adults want to shoot down rocket ships.” I certainly don’t. LOL!
Sex-as-gameplay-reward remained a staple that cropped up in games well into the 21st century. From the antics of gaming’s most snappily-dressed loser lounge lizard, Leisure Suit Larry — the point of whose games is the seduction of beautiful women in the most hilarious way possible — to the headboard-rattling antics of Kratos in God of War, sex being either the point of a game, or a lucrative side activity, has never been unusual.
Evolution of Sex in Games
Over time, sex has become less of a pornographic oddity and more of a common element of storytelling in games. Sex-with-woman-as-gameplay-goal is still an unfortunate part of the medium, but some games have incorporated it in a less lurid manner. The “romances” of Witcher or Dragon Age make the activities about the characters involved in them and how they relate to each other, which is probably as close as the medium is likely to get to a nuanced portrayal of sex as a normal part of human relationships.
It’s worth noting that, in many of the examples of modern games that include sex, the act itself is not interactive. The player controls the character on the way there, but doesn’t “take part” in the activity. There are exceptions, though — the aforementioned Kratos, the rather awkward Heavy Rain love scene, and of course the ‘Hot Coffee’ mod, which we’ll get to in a moment.
Even in the modern industry, games with sex scenes thrown in are usually met with derision. A good example would be Ride to Hell: Retribution, a perfect example of a game with sex scenes so poorly contextualized and animated. Reviews of the game described the scenes as “a silent, fully-clothed sex that looks like something out of a child’s imagination.” It is the same reviews that said the game itself reduced the female characters into “[walking] fuckboxes, who exist to get kidnapped, rescued, and screwed.”
How much sex is too much sex?
The gaming industry has seemed to reach its own equilibrium about sex, even as the rest of the world still struggles with it. As such, whether sexual content in games is ever appropriate, and how much of it is appropriate, have long been debated in both the legal system and in public opinion.
Since sex, much like violence, is believed to corrupt the minds of the innocents, moral panics have risen time and again. Hearings over whether it is morally dubious to have these actions in games were also recorded. In particular, the controversy surrounded the games, Mortal Kombat and Night Trap.
Throughout history, the game-aggrandized sex as yet another form of violence that Senator Joseph Lieberman in particular claimed it would “teach a child to enjoy inflicting torture.”
Since then, sex in a game has always been subjected to complaints, but it eventually persisted, minus the interactive interface from the side of the players. For male payers, this is particularly distressing, as it leaves them fantasizing about the female characters instead.
Interestingly, though sex-in-games caused such problems for game developers that the repercussions are remembered. Unfortunately, though, it didn’t stop them from incorporating it into modern role-playing games like Grand Theft Auto (GTA).
That’s not to say gamers themselves are immune to this sort of knee-jerk reactions towards sex in games. Nevertheless, a lot of gamers are still interested in playing games that developers describe as “an open-ended social simulator mixed with a point-and-click adventure inspired by classic comedies of the 90s” – a euphemistic description for games with overly sexual content.
Sexiest In-Game Characters
Nevertheless, men will always be men. That said, what some people may call a “misogynistic pile of shit” could be “a fascinating exploration of a certain type of male mind” for the others who see women as goals to be conquered, rather than autonomous individuals.
As such, we rounded up a list of female game characters whose appeal would certainly fit the bill for a “fascinating exploration” from the male mind.
Faith (Mirror’s Edge)
Mirror’s Edge is an action-adventure platform game set in a quasi-futuristic city, and it follows the story of the protagonist named Faith Connors, a parkour courier who transmits messages in an underground capacity while evading government surveillance. Faith is controlled by players from a first-person perspective in a series of acrobatic-heavy levels that involve jumping between rooftops, running across walls, and sliding down zip lines.
To showcase the appeal of Faith Connors, cosplay girl Miya chucked her sweet side as she plays dress-up, posing as Faith from the video game Mirror Edge. Only, it seems that this Faith is out on a break!
How would you feel about acrobatic sex with this little undercover messenger? Is the roof fun enough?
Chun Li (Street Fighter)
Chun-Li is the main female character of the Street Fighter series, originally appearing in Street Fighter II. She was the first female fighter, with expertise in martial art. She is also an Interpol officer who relentlessly seeks revenge for the death of her father at the hands of M. Bison.
This Chun Li, with her creamy white skin and characteristic hairstyle looks as sweet as her name suggest, but can swing from a fierce fighter to a sweet paramour to any man. Naturally, not many men can get her to notice them, but for cosplay girl Mahou Melon, if a man who would be willing to worship the ground she walks on, then he’ll be good enough to go down and get dirty with.
It also seems like she likes the outdoors, seeing that she has no qualms about going naked outdoors and in broad daylight as well.
Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)
Tomb Raider, also known as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider was a game which became a hit sometime in 2001. Known for its protagonist – British archaeologist Lara Croft – players who tried it were taken on trips around the world. While searching for lost artefacts and infiltrating dangerous tombs and ruins, the game in itself is generally focused on explorations and puzzle-solving. It was eventually popularized in a movie too, with the protagonist played by the sexy Angelina Jolie.
Melissa Drew dressed as Lara Croft may not be your typical Lara, but this sweet-faced vixen is no less alluring than the original. She is just as appealing in this photo set, too. While she kept the important parts hidden, she posed against a tree and sends a come hither look that will drive any man crazy for some outdoor fun in the sun.
League of Legends (LOL) Ahri Midnight
League of Legends (abbreviated LoL or League) is a 2009 multiplayer online battle arena video game originally inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DOTA). The game itself has acquired enough popularity among players, but one of its in-game skins, Ahri Midnight, even more so.
Alice Kyo in this Ahri Midnight skin is no less fun. With an on/off version, Alice can be seen playing with her boobies in what appears to be an instructional video telling her male fans just how she likes her breasts played.
If you are up for some titty fun, then watch carefully and make sure you get the basics down. Of course, you can close your eyes and think of all the things you can do with this set of tits, and well, the rest is all up to you.
Miss Fortune (Skullgirls)
Skullgirls, a 2D fighting game developed by Reverge Labs and published by Autumn Games between April to May 2012, may not have as much following as LoL. However, it is no less appealing seeing that the developers also created a mobile spin-off of the game and released it in May 2017.
Nevertheless, Miss Fortune of Skullgirls has a ranged attribute, making her a prime choice among in-game characters. If you aren’t interested in the game itself, I’m sure you won’t say no to these “cannon balls” being offered by cosplay girl Kalin Kafox. With her characteristic red hair and sultry look, you can only imagine how fiery she can be in bed, given the right partner in crime, I mean, in bed. Who knows what other ammunitions are hidden under that sexy wrap skirt? Aren’t you itching to find out?
Aloy (Horizon Zero Dawn)
Horizon Zero Dawn is an action role-playing game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The huntress Aloy is the game’s protagonist. She is a hunter in a world overrun by machines. With a goal of uncovering her past, players taking on this character wields ranged weapons, a spear, and stealth to combat mechanical creatures and other enemy forces.
Much like the in-game character, this Aloy portrayed by this cosplay girl goes one with nature in this photo set. As a player can explore the open world to discover locations and take on side quests, our Aloy here invites all eligible players to explore the beauty that is laid bare before them in this sexy photo set. Of course, you can feel free to discover the fun up and down, from her exposed tits to the gaping pussy which is waiting for an explorer like yourself to reveal its secrets.
D. Va (Overwatch)
Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer game with a first-person “hero shooter.” Played in two teams of six, each player have a choice between over 30 different “heroes.” Though the game itself offers a unique style of play, there are but three general roles reserved for each team to build characters that will work together to secure and defend control certain points on the map.
As players gain cosmetic rewards for their character, Meikou will surely get rewards for being cute and sexy on any man’s list. She’s got wonderful boobs and a body to die for. Plus, she looks like a fun playmate in bed!
Brigitte (Overwatch)
Brigitte is yet another character from Overwatch whose popularity among cosplayers and gamers cannot be discounted. Pioneered by Blizzard Entertainment from 2016, Brigitte’s appeal on men and women alike is not to be frowned upon and is quite evident with the sheer number of professional quality and erotic and non-erotic cosplay characterization she generates.
If you are not convinced yet, take a quick look at this cosplay porn set from Virtual Geisha, and tell me if you don’t find her and hervawesome boobs and booty hot enough to play with all night long!
Tifa Lockhart (Final Fantasy)
Final Fantasy is a Japanese anthology science fantasy media franchise created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, and developed and owned by Square Enix (the creator of Tomb Raider and its iconic Lara Croft). This game is centered on a series of fantasy and science fantasy role-playing video games – the first of which was released way before most of us were even born, in 1987. It has been remade into a film, Final Fantasy, which remains one of the highest-grossing video game franchises of all time, having grossed $10.9 billion in lifetime revenue, as of 2019.
Though the Final Fantasy video game series has been both critically and commercially successful, with over 154.5 million software units sold worldwide, the characters were also popularized in markets in and out of Japan.
Naturally, we won’t neglect to introduce one ofnthe hottest female character in both the game and the video – Tifa Lockhart.
Just for being an awesome in-game character with both power and allure to boot, Tifa is unsurpassed in popularity.
